Dumleman
Maybe this is an old exercise but I haven’t seen it before so I thought I should show it here . I mostly do grippers and from that the thumbs gets almost no training so 8 kg in this exercise feels very heavy for my thumbs at the moment. It follows the thumbs natural movement quite nice I think. I think you get the idea by watching this short movie: http://www.gripboard.com/index.php?act=mod...cmd=si&img=3254

Dude
I saw it earlier. I think basically you take a large rubber band and place it on the tip of your thumb and straight flex it into your hand. Basically your giving the hitch hiking sign with fingers extended moving your thumb back and forth working the thumb with the rubber band. I've confused myself. I see why they equip forum software to display images now, for situations like this.

Any effects on other lifts? ← Very sporadic training so it wouldn’t be fair to say if it has increased my strength or not but I usually feel it in my thumb the day after .
