I find wide pinching easier and was wondering what was the consensus here is and if there is any crossover effect from wide-to narrow/narrow to wide.

Wide pinching is definatly eaiser for me. I can do 5-10s with ease now, but am no where close to getting 2-45s. 2-35s are tough for me most times.

I ditto the "wider is easier". I suck at pinching two plates but am committed to start working on same.

Maybe that's because 5-10s weigh 50 lbs and 2-45s weigh 90 lbs. Very few would be stronger with a wide set up on the Euro standard pinch.

I do agree with you there. :)

At the same weight my wide pinch seems easier..maybe because of hand size? Mine are a hair under 8 1/4".

Is there a certain point that you guys consider wide versus narow?

thinking about it, a logical division would be pinching where your whole finger is on the object (narrow) versus pinching where only the first or second sections of your fingers are on the face (narrow)..

Generally I think of wide as hex weights or blocks or 4-5 10's...narrow is pinching plates like 25-45's

I actually train three levels of pinch. To me, plate pinching is medium level and blobs and block weights are wide. But I have a special thin block about the thickness of a deck of cards that I train with and consider narrow. But maybe I'm a little nuts... :upsidedwn
