Video: Sledge Lever Question

FrankyBoy

Recommended Posts

I built a loadable sledge lever device today.

Did my first serious attempts on a sledge using this toy.

I filmed my 2nd attempt:

Sledge Lever

Weight is 5kg (11lbs).

Length of handle from centre of weight to end of hand (pinky side): 67,3cm (26,5").

Two questions:

1. How close is that to attempt that would pass in a contest (GGC, COC)

2. Too which real sledge would that configuration with 11lb correlate (approx.)

Thanks.

Hi Franky,

I believe on levers to the nose your holding hand needs to be at least as high as your head/nose. Also my sledge has a 32" handle so yours is 5.5 inches shorter. That is still a good training device though.

Franky,

The shaft we are using is 900mm (35.5").

Your arm will be strapped to the adjustable platform, and your arm will be at right angles to your body from the shoulder.

We are still deciding on whether to lower the hammer to the ear or forehead. We will decide this week.

Rules will be put up soon.

Keep up the training.

David

Looks really good to me, Franky, except in our contest, the butt of the hand, or pinky pad, will be flush with the end of the hammer.

Thanks Jedd. :happy

Yes, the shaft should be grabbed at the very end.

I am using a axe shaft for my setup which I just can't grab that low.
