Got My New 2005 Trainer

I got the 2005 IM Trainer last week. It was about a 2 3/4 spread and a 1/16 spring mounting depth. After seasoning it went to a 2 5/8 spread.

With all the talk about how hard the new batch of grippers is I closed it a few times and found that it is nowhere near the IM#1 which is a 2003 model or before.

But I have never had a Trainer before so cannot directly compare to another one.

I bought this only to have a gripper to start with should I decide to do the high rep program again.

If those poundages are accurate, yes. The point of this post was more about an old well seasoned 1 that may be less than the theortical 140, on the other hand the new Trainer being the newer model and certainly not as seasoned may have felt closer than it actually felt.

I am aware of the poundage rating estimates....but thanks

I have squeezed my almost 2 year old #1 hundreds of times since I got it. I really don't notice

much of a difference from when I got it until now. But since I brought it up, it will

probably explode tomorrow morning ;)

There is no mistaking either of my Trainers for the #1.

Maybe I am not making my point clearly. I am speaking to the fact of the "new" grippers being so hard , alledgedly..well they are not hard enough to "feel" like the next gripper up..especially where this is a small jump of 40 lbs, I.E.

Worn out 1 at maybe 120....New TOUGH 2005 Trainer?...maybe 110-115?

My one has seasoned down to about a 2 5/8 from the original 2 3/4..it has gotten easier..not tons..but easier.

Grippers vary.

I've got a new #2 that's easier than my 2003 #2. I've got a new #3 that is like a brick, much harder than a 2004 #3 I got last year or a Grand Master I just bought.

Same old, same old.
