Iron Mind Qualifications... I Chalk Allowed?

(EDIT: topic should be "Is Chalk Allowed", not "I Chalk Allowed")

I recently purchased a set of Iron Mind bending pads, and heard that putting chalk on them helps quite a bit.

Well, I fought through my first yellow bend with no chalk the other night.

I finally got my hands on some chalk, and rubbed it into the pads... What a difference!

I could burn through a yellow easily.

So is chalk 'legal' per Iron Mind?

Thanks.

Bogz.

Chalk is legal. With the IM pads it can be dangerous not to use it. If you are applying a ton of pressure and that bar spins you can get hurt....

Two questions

1-is the IM pad the best thing to use as opposed to say leather?

2-To cert do you have to use a IM pads?

gripperm - yes you have to use Ironmind pads.

This is my opinion.., Ironmind pads suck,a nd are the worst thing you can use for bending aside from a dish rag, Leather is flexable, much more safer, and easier to bend with and much more forgiving on the hands..The only reason i would consider ever using ironmind pads is if i wanted to Cert, then i would give them away..
