bigboy
Could someone please explain the reason and method to filing a gripper? I looked, but, I could not find a thread explaining this. Thanks
JohnOBrien
The reason is so that you can train the last portion of the close. If you can go a little beyond the range of a normal gripper, closing an un-filed gripper will feel like a partial rep and "should" be much easier. As to the method, I just bought a metal file and went at one of the handles at the base. File off a little at a time until you can just barely close the gripper. When that gets easy, file off a little more.
Vice
It's also a very good way to make the gripper progressively harder without having to jump up to a gripper you cant close.
