A strict grip routine?

sammyg,

NEVER follow a "strict" grip routine!  Vary it from time to time to avoid going stale.  I change my routine often, and sometimes give myself breaks in training to avoid overtraining.  Listen to what your body tells you.  If you're sore from grip training, another day's rest isn't going to kill you.   :p

He's right.  Go with your gut, do what you feel like that day.  I like to pick one lift and "specialize" on it for a couple months, then pick other lifts, and do them one or two at a time for about 2-3 weeks, while I'm working towards the big goal.  That way, I get stronger in what I'm specializing on, but workouts are fun because I'm always doing new stuff, and usually making modest gains on the "little things" i'm kinda playing around with.

I'm with Snott and CLayton.  Training by instinct is a much more productive way of going about it.  This way you will not over/undertrain and as we all know both of these can kill gains.
