chrisshirling
After getting finally getting my form right, and bending cut Home Depot 6 inch timber ties, I finally strengthened my upper body enough to bend the yellow nail. On my last two bending session, my form sort of fell in place. I now bend DO, with the nail underneath my chin, palms facing down. To start the bend I push on both sides of the nail and use my wrists to bend the nail, forcing a kink. Then I go for the crush down soon as I can while the nail is warm. The yellow nail bent like putty when I finally got that first kink started. A few minutes later and I had two more bent. I can almost gaurentee I'll have a blue bent within 30 days. My question is, where do I go from here to progress to the red? Thanks

Lyle
Nice work and great start, now up and on, I'd say since you have IM stock either go for some volume with the Yellow or cut .5" off and do that for a while then a Blue's just don't go too hard to fast as the experianced guys here will tell you at some point you'll have to do volume and as I find and extra day or two of rest every now and then leads to some big jumps, good luck
GatorGrip
Congratulations chrisshirling on your recent accomplishment! Now onward and upward to a piece that’s shorter, thicker, higher grade and Hot or Cold rolled.
Oldtime
If you progress anytihng like i did you cna already benda blue...i would say attempt a 6.5 then maybe a blue then do some kinda volume. Im a big fan of about 25 nails for volume. Oldtime

Thanks ← Update, a week later, I bent the rest of the yellows, except for four. I've been putting off bending to only once a week, usually due to hand pain making it hard to sleep, but I think I'll be ready for the blues next week. After that, on to who knows what

chrisshirling
Bent a blue nail, while sick with a bad cold. Probably not the best thing to do. It seemed impossible, but it's funny how when you find that certain sweet spot to apply pressure to, the nail just caves in.

gamidon
Great Job. Continue to work your form and your speed to prepare yourself for bigger bars. Don't be in such a rush that you push too fast to get the larger bars. Make sure your form is bullet proof and your hands and wrists are ready. Work those sledges too. Congrats, I look forward to seeing your name on the red benders list someday. Greg Amidon
