The first YMCA built in America was in Boston, where I'm informed, the central branch still has the original gym. This must surely mean original area not original equip- ment, but can anyone in that region tell us more? Any old weights on display there? Any photos of oldtimers? The original Y was built Dec 29, 1851, and, of course, the Y system was home to many, if not most, early weightlifting events in America.
