Extensors Hurting?

TennisDude

Recommended Posts

Two days ago, I think I hit my grippers a bit too hard. Tried to do some insane volume, without breaking after each set for each hand. Anyways, now my extensors for my right hand are pretty sore.

I tried the hot bath/cold bath idea, and even bought some marbles to sort of massage them with. They did feel better afterwards. So, when I went to bed, I put some gloves on as I read here somewhere. Anyways, I woke up with it aching even more.

Is there anything else I can do to speed up the recovery, so I can get back into it again? I also assume it'd be bad if I tried to do grippers now, even though I could barely close any.

Thanks,

TennisDude

sounds like you just hit it too hard too soon. take it easy until they stop hurting (when i did the same thing the day i got my grippers i needed to take almost a week off for my wrists to recover). in the mean time doing unweighted wrist rotations and un resisted finger extensions would probly help as long as they don't hurt you at all. when your extensors feel better toss a rubber band around your fingertips and open your hand as far as you can. do reps and timed holds. don't forget your left hand i'm sure it needs help too. i find that rotating my wist maximally while holding my fingers at maximum extension is also very wicked.

hope your hands heal up well.
