rolf
Hey all, I just cut an IM yellow (the same as a blue) to 5-1/2" for next weekend's bending session. Anybody know what is the yield strength for it? I could only find one for a 5-1/4" piece. I also read the rule of thumb that a 1/2" cut off increases the yield strength by around 15 percent. That would mean 299 IP. Is this accurate? Sounds like quite a challenge for my puny wrists... But I will get it. I can do a full length blue in 15 seconds or so. logotaxis
Well, I go by this sometimes: http://home.insight.rr.com/strongman/yields2.html Near the bottom you'll see a 5" yellow (same as blue) rated at 345.
rolf
Logotaxis, Thanks, but a full-sized blue is actually 6" long. The yellow is 7". Still hoping someone knows the strength of a 5-1/2" blue/yellow. Rolle
rolf
Well guys, What the heck ever it was, now it's bent. Never done tougher than a blue before. Rolle
bencrush
Nice bend Rolf! That's my current PR too for the Blue Nail. How long did it take you to bend?
rolf
Ben, Thank you! Don't really know the time, but I would guess something in the 35-45 second range. Rolle
