Nick McKinless
In 2003 at the Australian Grip Champs we had Gold, Silver and Bronze engraved Grippers for the first 3 prizes. I have the Gold one and its just like that one Andy has. Both made by RB grippers I presume. I'm amazed nobody did it before. Nick
smitty
For the top 6 places at GGC2004 - we had all special engraved RB grippers for the event - the top three being Gold, Silver and Bronze!
mobsterone
My 4th place gripper is nice n' shiney and has a nice engraving on the bottom. Robert is the only maker I know that does this for you. However, I think David Horne had some grippers ground down on the inside of the handles and engraved the one year I didnt place Which I think was 2002 or 2003? I thought there were quite a few, especially your first go at the IG a decade ago. Did you not finish last in that one.
mobsterone
A decade? I think not. I haven't competed 10 times. My first was 3rd place (of 3 so last place but still a trophy ha ha) in 2001 - same year as a I became a CoC. The second was 7th (changed from 8th) of 8 or 9? in 2002 (I only did well on the 3.5 inch handled dumbbell) . Then a 2nd (of 6?) in 2003 (I won 2 of the five events and David 3) and finally a 3rd (of 6?) in 2004. 4 times in total. 4th at the European (of 12) and same again at the GGC (of 18) takes me to six times competed in total. With the one bad year left aside I have 2 x 3rd, 1 x 2nd and 2 x 4th.
Mikael Siversson
I haven't competed 10 times. ← I didn't say you had competed ten times. I will see if I can find my old IG mag, where I saw it.
