Nathan Say
Since people are saying it's getting slow in here, I've been doing pinches less & plate curls more because my plates eat up my hands. Last workout I tried pinching 35's & they were easier than they've ever been! I think it's got to do with all the curling I've been doing because the position my hand is in is similar for both lifts & I've got to pinch the plate to keep it from dropping. Has anyone else noticed this?
Guest baldy
Nathan, I do my plate curls on the same day I do a thin width pinch. It does feel similar on the heavier weights. In fact, on my top end plate curl the plate slips downward a little because of my weak pinch, making the curl a little harder.
paul valpreda
Nathan, I had a plate curl workout last night and when I was finished with the curls, I performed some pinch-lifts. I had taken a break from pinch-lifting for several weeks due to a sore tendon in my elbow, but I continued to do plate curls. When I pinch-lifted last night, I was stronger than before I took my break! I think I can attribute this to the plate curls. They have helped increase my pinch-lifting strength without even pinch-lifting. There is a direct correlation between those two exercises, at least in my case. I noticed a big improvement. paul
