Guest liquidtheorems
I prefer to have the pins set to as close to the center of my knee as possible but not below center. So, if I cannot get center of knee cap I will go a hole higher rather than lower. I experimented to find which gave me a better back starting position and a little higher was better. Also if you are using a standard diameter barbell chalk is your best friend, well it's always your best friend but from experience those thin bars really tear the pads of your palms off at weights around 450+ lbs. Guest liquidtheorems
Just a note PDL's don't really destroy the hands that bad under ten reps. I've really had my hands killed at around 30 or 40 reps at 450+ lbs that's what I meant by it. Gym bunnies and gym jocks have a hard time with blood on the bar and under the power rack and on your sweatshirt and well chalk is good Bob
Fuel Crusher
Arrgh another lifting monster :0 Hi Bob welcome to the board. The bar I've been using is just a length of 1" bar with tape around it of all things, not great for the hands. Just ordered an olympic set though so I finaly get to lift with a proper bar FC
Guest liquidtheorems
Hey nice to meet you Fuel. Seems you've invested quite a bit in a good bar. Remember get chalk its cheap and you get a whole bunch for the money. I think ironmind has chalk for 8 bucks for a pound. Lasts a good long time I'm still using up my first two ounce block and I bought the box in august. Partials can really tear up your hands at high reps high weight even tough hands. mobsterone
Quick point re bar thickness. The bar wot I have brought is 32 mm thick and weighs 21.6 not 28 and 20. This might help re the pressure and will, I hope, put others off using it.
