Interesting Q. I swear I have gotten a good pump and even soreness in my biceps just from squeezing grippers? The biceps function to supinate the wrists, so they will play a role in supporting the position of the hand. If the arm is bent as well, they may come into play more. But I wouldn't put grippers on the top of my list for building guns like 'Ahnold'.

It's amazing how every muscle in the body can contract so hard as you sweat profusely just trying to close a little gripper (I've had cramps in my bis, abs, lats, etc.). There may be some indirect effect because the bicep is so close to the working forearm muscles (according to theories suggested by Arthur Jones). It probably wouldn't stimulate much if any biceps growth unless you're a rank beginner though.

No it won't, you'll only get an isometric contraction, which will cause infantismal strength gains.

You can tense your bicep to help get a few extra pounds of crushing power, but that alone won't give you beach biceps.
