Ive just started training my grip about 3 weeks ago. Im training with the COC #1 and im also working on my wrist.

But about 1 week ago my right elbow started to hurt. The pain is worst when i dont move my arm. The pain goes away when i train, but comes back in about 1 hour. Should i worry about it or is it normal? Thanks for any advice.

Greetings Omni and welcome,

Are you doing curls or any work with thick bars in addition to your grip work? If so that may be the problem. I was experiencing something similar a while back only it was my left elbow. If you are doing isolation excercises such as bicep curls, I would suggest that you cut back or completely drop these and use standard bars for your other excercises when you do grip work. It worked for me, hope it helps you!

                                        Later,

                                          JJ

I might also suggest you don't over do your grip work at this stage of your training, and go back in archives to see how some of our guys here do it! We have the best!

You need to do finger extension work, mobility, flexibility and a possible change in work patterns.  If your job involves resting your elbow on an arm rest (typing) then this could be the scouce of you injury in the form of RSI.

For finger extension work, get a regular jar (like a canning jar I guess), stick your hand inside & use friction to pick it up. As you get stronger, put rocks/shot/something in the bottom of the jar to add weight.
