What about THIS as a Grip Feat?

yeah, I can't pick up a 100 lb plate with one hand (if it has a thin lip). Oh, I get it now, you were making a joke. Haha.  :)

While we're at it, has anybody pinched 3 45's yet? I'd pay

to see someone do that, even if the lips are facing out on

the outer 45's.

Nope, not possible. I just now tried it.

Seriously, David Horne did 143 by grasping one

plate, but the two plates you mention would be

wider, and his pinching ability drops on wider

surfaces (so I read).

Would a rod thru the two plates be allowed- though

I doubt the holes would be in alignment?

Wannagrip,

That feat ranks up there with something like the 4:00 minute mile.  It sounds impossible now, but if and when grip training reaches a popularity level similar to powerlifting (stressing the if) or just keeps attracting people with potential and training techniques continue to improve, this feat does not seem out of human capabilities in my mind.

Crush junior,

Try to find someone (beside Horne and Sorin) who can pinch 3 25's. You won't. What about pinching 3 45's. It will be accomplished the same day as the 2000 pounds deadlift.

Tou,

Mmmm... that 2000 lb deadlift sounds hard. I'm not sure

how much more difficult pinching a 100 and a 45 with smooth

sides out with one hand and no rod through the middle would

be than 3 45's. Of course a rod through the middle of the

45's would help a LOT.

Richard Sorin stated on this forum pinching three 35 pound plates - 105 pounds - as an awesome pinch gripping feat.  Has anyone (besides me) tried this.  (oh yeah, I couldn't do it!)

Yea, I'm working on the 45 lb. plate tear with just thumb and forefinger.  Just tearing out a small chunk of course for extra difficulty.  And then bending that chunk over on itself, which is then followed by crushing that chunk into a new denser material w/two fingers. (I'll have to progress to just one finger in a little while.)

LOL  :D  :D  :D

I'm pretty sure someone is going to read this and will attempt a plate tear in the gym. I would pay to see the face of the gym owner seeing a guy trying to tear a plate in half.
