Dude
Hey guys, I'm relatively new to the whole hand strength thing. I saw the grippers online and bought #1,2,3 CoC. I can close the #2 for like 3 singles, 5 seconds apart, and get to 3/4 of an inch with the #3. I guess its pretty good for never doing grippers before @ 20 yrs old. I was wondering what type of hand strength is most predominate in bending? Crushing, Pinch, etc... Also do beginners with my low handstrength start out with bending and can I grab it at any hardware place?
Pharaoh
Hey "dude". (hehe) Bending is totally seperate from anything else. It is mostly wrist strength and your ability to "lock" your wrists while pushing on the bar. Train it as a seperate entity from grippers, etc... By all means, go out and get some bars and start bending today! There are different strengths (of course), and I think you'd be able to fold up some lengths of 3/16" Bar right now. Check Bender's page for more info. He has a great site: http://www.geocities.com/ltgodfrey/home.html ...good luck with it. Its addictive! I was searching IM's site for nail equivilant length's and thicknesses and came up wanting. That site had a FAQ that answered my questions, all my questions, and I'm affraid fueled my new future obbsession; bending. I quickly grabbed the dremel, and cut the last 4 feet of 3/16 hrs I had into 5.5 and 5 inch lengths. I think I am off to a good start. The 5 inch lenghts fall pretty easily. But I am gonna keep on the technique, before jumping to the 1/4 inch stock. n8
