HawkSC
Hi everybody, I'm new to this grip scene and I just bought a 1" and a 2" spring clamp from Lowe's (Kobalt). Man, I can barely budge these. I can't open them all the way. What should I do to maximize my development of a pinch grip with these? : TIA, Jim
Bill Piche
Use it for negatives. That's what I use mine for. Cheat it shut with both thumbs and hold with one.

I have a 1" and a 2" clamp and the 1" seems even harder to use than the 2" TIA, Jim

It gives the clamp a broader base to duplicate blob lifts and plate lifts with. I take a handle and put it on the edge of the table than use both thumbs to close the clamp and just one to hold on. I found this way also isolates the thumb more and the fingers less.

Scott Styles
I found cheap pony clamps in the bargain bin of my local hardware store. The spring was about half as thick as a Pony brand gripper and is a good strength for me. The Pony ones I added a bar to each side and have to do with two hands.
