t_rex
Give the bending a break for a while and see if the pain continues. Tried putting them in buckets of hot and cold water?
chrlslee1
no, just cold water. I bend my wrists in the direction you bend them when doing front squats when i bend metal. Is anything wrong with that? BTW, i dont blame you if you dont understand a word of that.
capt. crushalot
If your wrists are bending backwards as much as in a front squat that sounds excessive. That could put the hands and wrists in an awkward position. Does the palm of your hand form about a 90 degree angle with your forearm when bending?..OUCH! Bending double underhand or double overhand would usually require some rotation of the hands, wrists and forearms...... and less backward bending of the hands and wrists. You might want to check out the bending styles of some of the gripboard's master benders. Eric Milfeld has an e-book on bending available through this site. Maybe have an experienced bender watch you or send a video to them to get feedback. Hope those hands and wrists are healing well and feeling well soon, so you can get back to bending. kerbjr
when I used to bend double underhand all of the time I also used to experience severe wrist pain. Mine got so bad at times that I couldnt hardly use my steering wheel. The thing that helped me the most was active recovery, specifically baseball rotations. I did these several times each day 100 rotations each hand, and experienced a ton of relief. However going to double overhand aka eric milfield style would probably get rid of most all of your pain.... Do let me say this though, heavy bending is gonna hurt, at least it does me, after certing on FBBC 6.5 and failing on the 6, I have been sore for 5 days.....Hang in there, maybe drop to 1x per week and add some active recovery, and most of all remember rome wasnt built in a day...Brett
