Jedd,

You are THE ULTIMATE GRIPPER ASSASSIN.

Your mission is to:

Get in quick, hit it hard, slam it shut, kill that gripper

and get out fast with the MM3 certification.

When it comes to this gripper I feel confident you

are going to make a killing. :rock

Drop us a line once your mission is complete.

P.S. remember to cover your tracks and leave

no evidence other than a witness and a detailed

video. Then have your evidence shipped to the

Big Boss Wannagrip. The Big Boss may or may

not want the witness shipped too...

please check with him.

I'd poor diesel all over it to burn the box off and leave nothing but the gripper standing but I don't think diesel burns to well. Go Jedd!

Well, we did not close it.

I failed in May, September, and now, after 4 full months of concentration on crush, the first time I have ever specialized for such a long time on one single grip discipline, I have still failed to close the gripper.

I am a believer in "three strikes and you're out." This is the third time I have failed to close the MM3, so I am asking that my title as Mash Monster Level 2 be taken away, and I will now re-certify at that level.

There was much scrutiny of my MM2 close anyway, so I am wishing to be added to the MM2 list, if possible, or I will simply sign up the next time there is a sign-up period.

Best of skill to Shane Larson and Eli Thomas in there future endeavors tackling the MM3, but to have as big a gap between the handles on my third round and after a quarter of a year trying to improve, I just do not feel worthy to try it again.

Thanks,

-Jedd-

You already closed it (MMG2)! No need to re-certify.

If you insist, you can have a go at the MMG2 whenever you are ready. I will re-open the next session for MMG2 as it's time since Shane just got done.

How far off was Eli?

Is Smitty sending it back?

Much respect for the honest assessment.

Eli was off about a bit more than an eighth of an inch. I guess I was the same. It actually felt like I touched them together on the last try, but the video clearly showed I did not.

I will be sending the gripper back, as I am the Diesel Crew postman.

Yes, I will be signing up for the MM2. I will send out my re-cert fee at the same time.

Keep your head up Jedd. Maybe you just had an off day. I don't see anything wrong with your MM2 vid. Anybody that's criticizing is probably just one of those people that likes to bitch.

1/8" on that thing is nothing to be ashamed of bro. Work on some other stuff for a while and you'll come back stronger than ever!

Great try, guys and a pleasure to read your honest assessment.

Keep training and getting stronger, both of you. .. neilkaz ..

Jedd and Eli,

It must be frustrating to have come so close on the MM3.

You guys have already achieved a great accomplishment

by completing the MM2 cert. People will be inspired to

attempt the MM0 because of what both of you have

already accomplished. :mosher

Sometimes in life it is easy for us to become discouraged

when something seems almost impossible to accomplish.

Years ago Ann Sullivan took on what seemed to many

an impossible task. What became of her efforts......

her and her student went on to inspire generations

of us. Her student was both deaf and blind.

Here is what her student had to say:

"Character cannot be developed in ease or quiet.

Only through experience of trial and suffering can

the soul be strengthened, ambition inspired and

success achieved." Helen Keller

Hang in there guys. Who knows what the future

holds for both of you.

Good Luck and thanks for the inspiration you have

already provided me. :bow

Great job guys....

Jedd...failing on the mm3 has nothing to do with mm2...you crushed the mm2.

remember, there are guys on the board who took a year or 2 to close a 1/8th gap on their #3.......You'll get it bro...

Jedd and Eli, I know you guys will take the MMG 3 down one day...just doing the MMG 2 is :bow above and beyond in crushing anyway ;)

I can say that both were very close - Eli was about 1/4" and Jedd was about 1/8".

All 3 attempts for each guy was a maximum effort and I was in awe of their strength. I have no doubt both guys will close it in the future.

Props to Dave, Robbie and Clay who are some of the top crushers in the world - don't count out Shane and Heath though :)

Thanks to the Gripboard and our Grip community for supporting the MM process...
