deaner
Hey I just recieved 25 reds in the mail and they look different than the ones I got back in April. My olds ones were bright and shiny and these new ones are kinda dull and spotty. I was just wondering if anyone has noticed a strength difference. gamidon
Hey I just recieved 25 reds in the mail and they look different than the ones I got back in April. I believe there is about a 3 percent difference according to Eric's Measurements. I was generously given about 5 old style ones by Clay to try out. Every red I have ever bought was the dull brownish looking ones. Edited January 12, 2005 by gamidon
Zach Passman
I agree. The newer ones are a bit tougher.

deaner
Thats great, so it'll be a challenge after all, just kidding. So hard not to just start trying them, but I have a plan to follow so I'll have one by my birthday, Feb.24th, my goal date. I don't want a bunch of kinked reds lying around. I've got some really dull HRS thats even tougher.
kerbjr
Deaner, just a suggestion but you might try working on some grade 8- 5.5inch bolts, they are very close to the new reds but have a harder crushdown. the length may also throw you a little but you will save on the kinked reds....They have helped my bending a lot...Good luck, sounds like you are getting very close...Brett

I have a couple 5.5" g8s lying around and I'll have to give one a go, I had a harder time with the 5.5 inch g5 than the 6" g8. I'll be putting my hard bends in my log on Fidays. Monday will be a volume day. 3 hard bends on Friday. Hows this plan sound? 3 g5s last workout. I will try 1 g8 and 2 g5s next I think. Once I can get 3 g8s in one workout I feel I'll be ready. mmainlands
For sure, once you are doing 3 G8s in a workout you will be ready to melt a red.
HAMMERHEAD
For sure, once you are doing 3 G8s in a workout you will be ready to melt a red. Hopefully this will be true. I got 5 G8's in a workout and I'm not meltin' RED's yet. However, this weekend may be different if I'm rested enough. -HH

DAN PRAYDIS
how come every time someone gets good at something? or close to a feat? . or personal record someone has to change it ? set rules? pads? time? harder nails ? i guess they dont want to keep adding names to a list . years down the road we will have to bend a one inch steel rod and squeeze a gripper the size of a car spring . it may be that once these people reach their goals they wont buy the products anymore thus they make new ones to meet.
