Crushed An Apple

Wow!!

I have some small delicious apples that I put in my morning protein drink,

well this morning after being successful with tearing phone books lately I decided to try to crush one ...they were fresh and crisp and hard but small to average

in size.

Well, dug the fingers in (my girl was watching) and juice started flowing and snapped it in half!! Picked it up and crushed the halves into quarters with some mashing..not much...tough on your fingertips. I would have to credit my fingertip pushups to helping with this feat!!!

Nice job Paul! The first time I crushed an apple was actually at Jail...yeah that kind of sounds like a bad porno. :blush Anyway, one of the inmate kitchen workers heard about my supposedly good grip strength and threw an apple to me when he delivered the meal trays a couple of years ago. I asked what he wanted me to do with the apple because I didn't eat apples at the time. And he knew it. He said, "Try to crush that apple!" So I did exactly what you did, dug the fingers in and crushed for all I was worth. That damn apple exploded like a gremlin in the microwave! Makes a hell of an impression on most normal people. I've also heard that apples are different when it comes to crushing them. That makes sense. I would guess the bigger, the harder, just because of the surface area involved. Unless it's a stone hard smaller apple.

Danny,

I warm up with ten as my gripper warmup. Haven't really tried more but think I could. I weigh about 240 so its hard on my fingers, but in the right position feels fine.

Meat,

She won't marry me till I can crush a coal into diamonds!!! :laugh

Kiddin she's great really!! Supportive of grip too!!

I felt so great crushing an apple, I read in article in Milo by John Brookfield ;) that if you can crush the ironmind #1 easily then the apple will fall...well it exploded

A little off the subject but after xmas I was reading the grip masters manual and JB talks about crushing a potato as a hard feat. I couldn't belive it could be so hard and tried it. Much to the amusement of my brother and dad all that happened were some dry popping noises emitting from my knuckles.

I might have to get some apples to get my confidence back!!

Hey Showlarson after reading about your stats and thinking for a moment wait...I hear something....your confidence coming back and the apple exploding.

Before starting KTA last week I did this some weeks before and it was my first feat of grip strength. An article from Milo by John brookfield says "the idea is to squeeze with the fingers not to jab your fingers into the apple."

And thats my question. Are people stabbing and or peircing the apple with the tips of their fingers, or are poeple enveloping the apple, applying pressure to the finger pad/print area.

I have yet to crush any apple with the latter. I can destroy apples with the stabbing. So which are people doing?
