Getting the feel

As I mentioned in another post I have always worked grip in my lifting routines but never actually did a structured stand alone grip routine. I did my first one today (sort of) picking a few excercises and trying them out. I ordered Mastery of Hand Strength and should get it next week.  After reading it I will design a routine to fit my needs and with more  ammo/info under my belt. Today I went in and tested the waters though, just to get a feel for things and I will do it again Friday. I will continue getting used to grip work doing it twice per week  until I am ready to design a better routine rather than sit around and do nothing while I read up ....just wasting time. Today I started out with timed holds with my #1 coc then did holds with a regular BB for a couple of sets. After a couple mins rest I moved to the thick bar then finished up with some pinch grip using weight plates.  Friday I will be doing coc' again but for reps, wristroller and pinch blocks (wood 3.5 inch thick).

Do you think regular and thick bar holds in the same w/o are redundant?????
