kelby
what if you can close a 3 with a choke. instead of doing strap hold with number 2's. would it be better to use choke and hold the number three shut.

I would prefer a choke, but that's just me. I've never found strap holds to be productive. So I'm guessing this would be more a matter of preference, than one being "better" than the other. foggymountainmuscle
I'd say a choker. Strapholds will aid in helping you hold the gripper shut, but a choker will help you develope the closing power needed to move the gripper closed. A #2 can't mimic the sweep of a #3 no matter how heavy your strap holds are. In general the more work you can do with your #3 than your #2 the better I would say.
