DLK
I would like to know how to modify a gripper. I know many people on here have. How do you take the handles off of a gripper? I thought I should ask before I start messing around and mess one up. And how do you go about mounting the spring at a different height after you take it off? I am going to experiment with this and see what happens. Edited December 30, 2004 by DLK

Revtor
another thing you can do is extend the handles with washers and slowly remove washers to make the griepper harder. (actually bring the gripper back to its original hardness) drill and tap a hole in the ends of the handles and screw on some washers. ~Steve
DLK
Thanks guys. Never heard the washer thing Revtor. Do you have any idea how to tell how much easier it would get as you extend it?

mooinabc1
I think I make the best adjustable gripper helper period. If add to #1 you can add 5 pounds to 25 pounds easy. Or any gripper. I have weak left hand Iam starting the #1 ironmind and put my adjustable gripper help that I made. I force close the #1 before christmas in 2004 and then added 25 pounds to the #1 ironmind to total of 165 pound instantly. In jan 01,05=added another 7 pounds=total=172 pounds. Yes that fast using force close and the Johns Adjustable gripper helper. Imagine what can you do+plus Iam 50 years old. Yes I custom make them. The thing about modifing grippers like this it is cheaper then buying the inbetween gripper and theey are fully adjsutable and doesnot hurt the gripper in any way and more comfortable then the ironmind gripper helper. Total increase is 40 pounds. Just another 15 pounds to go.
