Roark
Just a word about the upcoming Arnold Classic in Columbus, Ohio, as it is relevant to this board: The Expo will offer the latest products- even those related to grip, the World PL Chps will be staged, and the inaugural Arnold Strongest Man competition will be featured. Click on Schwarzenegger.com if you want more details and search for 'classic'. Even if bodybuilding is dead last on your interest list, the Classic could be a rewarding experience with the martial artists (grip tips) and the other aspects. If you do not have hotel reservations by now you are probably out of luck, but if you live nearby, it's a great one day venture, and you can spend all day at the Expo for, I think, $10, get stamped and leave and return. Plus parking. I'll be there wrist curling 700 pounds- no wait, that was a dream leftover from last night. Anyway, there may be another Inch replica as there was last year- but I am guessing. Arnold doesn't need my help on publicity, but this event and the FIBO in Europe are the biggest of the year, and the Expo is Feb 22-23, check his site for specifics; you may enjoy it- UNLESS you are uncomfortable around crowds! Sometimes it is shoulder to shoulder, very slow walking. Hope this isn't too far off topic, but wanted to alert you to what could be a fun day! AP
a friend of mine told me a story today about how he was working as a bouncer for a club a few years ago during the ah-nold. he see's three people walk in so he calls his co-workers on the radio and tells them if something happens to not even get involved and to just call the police. when they ask him why he says - i don't know who those two 275lb plus guys are but that short dude in the middle is frank shamrock .. nightlife must be real interesting with the collection of strength size and martial art ability that the arnold attracts. not to mention the added suppements... Roark
Yeah, some interesting stories for sure. I was sitting outside a hotel in Columbus a few years ago at eleven at night with some folks from Flex and others, when a couple of fitness models sat with us. It was February and we were in short sleeves! Some of us went for supper, and the next morning I saw a writer friend of mine who was so tired he couldn't have deadlifted a 20 pound dumbell. When I asked why, he mentioned that he had gone dancing till late with one of the fitness models. Just dancing. But, man, did he have a smile... I had a very nice steak, does that count? Bill Piche
Roark, Do you have a camera? A digital one would be 100% perfect. You can be the roving reporter.

AnimalCage
Excellent! I'm glad you posted this. I will definitely be there. Of course, I will be driving out for the day (Saturday), not staying overnight. It's only a few hours from Indianapolis. I would be very interested in getting together with any grip brothers for a time. We could do lunch, or something. Any takers??
Roark
Please see the post about John Davis (on cyberpump main page). A replica set of Apollon's railcar wheels, 365 lbs, is being manufactured and will be in Columbus on Sunday Feb 24 for the Strongman competition. I know you mentioned Saturday, but wanted to alert you in case you were interested in seeing the wheels, and me one- hand snatching them... Too bad those Grip Page tee shirts aren't available yet- would be a good identifying tool to find grippers among the crowd.
AnimalCage
Oooh, too bad. I've been practising the two-fingered lever with similar devices (I have a few railroad axles laying around my garage somewhere). Would have loved to shown you how....
