SOS grippers

Many of us are soon getting SOS grippers. Together we could soon get an idea of how well the IP ratings mirrors the difficulty to close a gripper. We have some results from Heath's and Bill's attempts but we need a lot more data before we really know how much more accurate (or shall we say informative) lets say a 400 ip rating is compared to a #3 rating. I have ordered a 302, 338, 358, 399 and 437 ip grippers. I will compare these with a 286, 396 (adjusted to 390 ip for handle lengths) and a 410 (adjusted to 411) IM and let you all know the results. There will be three of us testing the relative difficulty of these grippers. We have all different closing techniques. My sweep is relatively weak and slow whereas one of the other two guys have a strong and explosive sweep. You may all (except perhaps Luke) laugh at my attempts to adjust for differences in handle length but this is one of few? parametres where there is a simple correlation between a feature on a gripper (ie length of handle) and closing torque.
