Paul Kilmer
Got a quick question for the fellas here. I started out bending DU which is my strongest bending style. However due to pain in the webing in my thumbs I recently switched over to DO. In addition to that I began working for volume on 40d's instead of max bends on increasingly harder HRS and CRS. As the 40d's got easier I switched to DO style with a wide grip on the nail, starting the bend up towards my chest. Now I have gotten to the point where I'm bending 40d's in about 5 seconds using Brookfield style. So the other day when I was buying some 40d's I decided to have a go at a bolt. I grabbed a 1/4'' X 5'' Zinc plated bolt and had the fight of my life battleing that mother F*cker latter on that night. It took me about 5 minutes to finish it off. So, my question is has anyone tried these Zinc plated bolts, how do they compare to others, is this bolt considered a grade, and lastly, how do these compare to grade 5's and medium 60d's as the 60d's that I have prety much laugh in my face when I challenge them. Give me some advice from the experts, thanks guys.
EricMilfeld
Paul, without knowing the specific zinc plated bolt in question we really couldn't give you a real accurate estimation of its strength. For example, some non-graded 5/16" bolts I've tried feel like Reds, while others feel like average 60D nails. But it sounds like you've found the perfect bolt with which to train for the time being. Way to stick with it and fight it out to the end.
