My First Planned Bending Workout

Recommended Posts

I actually planned a workout today. Usually I bend 3-4 pieces whenever I'm cutting steel for the Bender's bags & that's pretty much it. Today I actually loaded up before I went to the gym.

Did:

3- Grade 2 1/4 x 6"

5- 3/16 x 7" square CRS

4- 1/4 x 7" round CRS

3- 1/4 x 6" round CRS

1- 1/4 x 5.5" round CRS

Put a warp in a grade 5 5.5", my hands were pretty fried at this point.

Also learned that if I'm going to work bends between gym sets, I need to do it on a day when I DON'T do overhead work :blink . I was doing push presses with 295 & every rep my wrists were loose & shaky. I almost lost the first one. Didn't try any heavy sets after that.

John, those Bender's bags are top quality! I didn't realize you cut your own steel, but you do a fine job of it at a very reasonable price. Great product!

Nice solid workout, John! And when your bending catches up to your pressing ability-watchout!!!

Good workout John. I used to have pain in my wrists from pressing stuff overhead, but bending reverse grip (aka terminator style) and doing some light sledge levering really helped.

Guys-

First-thanks! I hope my bending ability winds up a lot better than my press. I'm a pretty average presser in Strongman. The wrists were just shot & weak, I had no control on the bar after a few bends - floppy. No pain at least.
