JohanB
I just want to brag a little. Today I had my second real bending session and man it was tough! I´m by no means a strong bender so many of you probably bend what I consider hard, as easy as butter. But anyway, today after doing some hard work with my sledgehammer I went for my 300*7mm (roughly 11" * 3/11") steel bar (I think it´s hot rolled) and after a hard struggle, both ends met, yehaa! I´m surprised I could do this after beeing so tired after working with the hammer but I did it and i t felt good. I Finished the workout with bending 100*5,1mm nails until I could not even put a dent in one of them. A question while I´m at it, when you bend longer pieces of steel, what kind of grip do you guys use? For the steel bar I bent I started of with an underhand grip and then switched over to an overhand grip to finish it of but it felt a little "off". This might be because I have not done much bending though.
EricMilfeld
Nice workout! It's fun, isn't it! I personally don't bending anything much over 7" in length, as it places too much stress on my pecs. Now if I wanted to first kink longer pieces of steel with a bracing technique, I could probably safely bend longer steel pieces.
