AN EASY WAY TO MAKE A HUB PINCHER

I was looking back through some of the old posts and found one about how to make a hub pinch thingy by drilling a hole in a hockey puck and putting an eye bolt through it.  Excellent idea!!!!

Being the cheapskate that I am, I made myself a hub by using one of my 0.5 kilo plates (standard).  Take the plate, put a chain through the hole, put a nice thick nail through the top link to hold it in place, stick a loading pin at the bottom (or just loop the chain through the weights) and hey presto!!! A nice cheap hub, and because the hub is not fixed to the chain, you can use the same stuff with different sized plates (like a 2 1/2 kilo plate).  To help keep the nail stable I put a bend in mine with a vice and a hammer but hey if you are good at it you could bend one :)

The whole thing should look somin like this (if it was hanging:

 --II--      <----- nail through chain

*****     <----- small weight plate

   II

   II         <------ chain

   II

?          <----- loading pin hook through chain

   #         <------loading pin

Hope this helps people

Or you could use an eye bolt, a nut, and a washer to hold the chain. Would only add maybe a dollar to the cost.

I was looking through all the post trying to get ideas for making my own equipment and saw this one and thought I could add a little bit to it.

I made a bunch of them, and gave them away to various people! :ohmy

If you wanted one so bad, why didn't you contact me?

Maybe later on, I build a few more.... who knows..... ;)
