Bar Leveraging

I haven't bought a sledge yet but at the gym today I did some other leveraging. I used one of those bars that has preloaded amount of weight on it(welded). It was a 20 pound total bar, I held it about 3/4 or so down(was a little longer than a sledge). Even doing that gave my forearms and wrists a different feeling than I have ever felt doing any exercise. I know it's different than a sledge being that the sledge's weight is all at one end.

Just curious to know what you guys thought about this.

I would think that it would be more difficult due to the fact that you have to also focus on the weight on the bottom.

Maybe it works the forearms/wrists a bit differently.
