Ends

Fellow members, when bending TT's and 60D's, do you cut the ends or just bend as is? Currently, I am bending TT's for volume (10-12 a session increase 1-2 each time) and gradually cutting down 1/4" round stock for PR's (1/4" each time). I bend 2x week, 1 volume, 1 PR. Does this sound good? Thanks for all the help!!

Use suede leather or similar material to wrap your nails. You never need to cut the ends off of nails unless you are trying to make them harder (i.e. cutting a 60d down to 5" long).

Your schedule looks good. Looks like you are getting adequate rest, but you are the best judge of that!

to start, i would bend using thin shop rags. the pain can be intense if you overdo it, but your hands will become much harder, and this is a great benefit. just suck up the pain of the the nail head.

Mostly I leave the points on but I had some nails with very wickedly sharp points and I removed them for safety.

Also I've put 2-3 nails through my towel rags and into my hands so I now bend with a leather wrap inside. I bend just for fun so i'm not worried about certifications and stuff

If you do choose to cut off any sharp ends, and perhaps file or grind them, life will be added to your padding material. This is the only reason I doctor-up the ends. But if you're not using good leather or ballistic nylon to begin with, then you best be on the lookout for puncture wounds. Never fun.

I take a grinder to the sharp points, it helps mentally cause you just dont have to worry about punctures.....Brett

Nobody gets purple hearts for bending, just file the end slightly and get after it. I agree about starting minimal padding but be careful and read your body. The workout split looks real good, I think that is a copy of a few good benders workouts. Good luck man.
