Bill Piche
The "Blob" that is most referred to on the GBoard, is half a York solid cast dumbell. The handle is cut loose from both spheres, creating the blobs. The difficulty of the Blob, aside from it`s width, is the sloping from the top side to the lateral faces of the Blob. The York is the blob of choice so to speak, but anything that works the hand in a wide pinchgrip fashion can be called a blob. As long as there is sufficient weight to it and is basicly compact in structure. Hex head DBs work well too. It is mainly the wide grip with sufficient weight that is the main idea. (Also called block weights) Block weights are square or can can be rectanular. For example; I have a block weight that is 4x4x6 (inches) and weighs 43lbs.
