Looks like a great contest, hope I can make it. Is the wrist wrench 2”?

2 3/8" I would imagine. Many incredible WW lifters that walk the streets in Canada! I have the double shallow if you want it for free- I bought it for prize giveaway but no one earned it.

Oh yeah, 2 3/8. I was thinking the WW was originally 2” and the 2 3/8 was called something else, but I’m sure you’re correct. I’ll gladly take your shallow pinch! Let me send you money for postage. Thanks Michael!

Michael is correct. It’s the original 2 3/8” version.

Dang it, June 1 is my son's high school graduation.  If it had just been my best friend's wedding or closing on my house or something, I'd have picked the comp, but I can't skip my son's graduation lol.

Bummed to miss it!

Here are the qualification criteria for participating in the 2024 North American Championships:

You qualify to attend if:

•    You’re ranked among the top 8 in your weight class on the North American Grip Rankings at any point between now and April 30th (https://www.canadagripsport.com/rankings.html), OR
•    You place among the top three in your weight class at the 2024 Nationals (Canada or US), OR
•    You win a weight class at any GSI-sanctioned contest held between May 1st 2023 and April 30th 2024 (or place among the top 3 North American competitors in multi-venue contests like the International King Kong Grip Challenge and the Napalm Nightmare World Championships).

Participation will be capped at 50 (approximately 35-40 men and 10-15 women).

Other qualification methods may be added if the maximum number of participants isn’t reached by April 15th (or whenever both the 2024 Canadian and US Nationals have been contested – whichever is later). This said, I reserve the right to expand the qualification criteria prior to this date if registration numbers are much lower than expected.

Registration will close on April 30th.

Do you already meet any of the above criteria and want to reserve your spot? Send me an email (eroussin@rogers.com) AND send $100 CAD or $75 USD via PayPal to the same email address.

Registration fees will be fully reimbursed if you must cancel if I’m notified by February 29th. They will be 50% reimbursed if I’m notified between March 1st and April 15th. No reimbursements will be made for cancellations past April 15th.

This will be an amazing contest – secure your spot sooner than later!

Please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions.

What are the dimensions of the shallow double inch pinch?

The pinchable surfaces are 1" tall, 1" wide, and 3" long. There is a 2" gap between them.

Note that because the original Wrist Wrench is no longer being produced, I've decided to switch to the Inch Wrench from Arm Assassin (2 3/8", standard texture, 3-hole bar).

Hi Eric is there any plan on tracking the Wrist Wrench in the GSI lists?

I’d like to. We just need to define clear rules for the event, which I’ll be working on very soon.

Here are the rules for the Wrist Wrench event. I also put together a short demo video. Please let me know if anything is unclear.

The lift height for the event will be a 6” lift.

Only the handle is to be grasped with the fingers on one side, and the thumb opposing on the other side. A thumbless grip is not permitted, nor is a hook grip (i.e., index finger wrapping thumb tip).

Prior to the start of the lift, the handle is to be rolled down until the straps that attach to the handle come into contact with the other end of the straps. The handle should then be grasped with one hand approximately level and in the middle, with the straps hanging down on the thumb side of the grip. The hand must not be placed on the straps. The lifter can stand upright or be bent over, but the elbow and wrist cannot be below the height of the first knuckles during any part of the lift (the knuckles where the fingers join the palm). The handle cannot be twisted to the point where any part of it touches the forearm.

The lifter will lift the Inch Wrench until the crossguard touches the crossbar. There is no referee’s signal. You do not have to be erect upon completion. You must lower the weight under control (hand grasping it all the way down). If the lifter misses contact with the crossbar, the lifter will still need to have the top of the crossguard cross the plane of the crossbar. Referee’s discretion will be used to judge whether the correct height was attained.

Bracing any part of the hand or forearm of the lifting arm or the apparatus itself against the thigh at the start of (or during) the lift is NOT allowed.

The off-hand may not be placed in contact with device during any part of the attempt. During the lift it can be posted on the hip or leg or left out to the side.

Similar question as for the wrist wrench, will the double shallow inch pinch be GSI tracked? We're considering it for an Australian competition in June but if it wasn't tracked it would be out of contention.

This looks brutal! How do you define a successful lift for the deadlift style of lifts and the rear sledge lever?

I think I asked you this in 2020, so sorry to ask again: what is the Red rafter and what is a clamp grip?
