Andrew P
If you have or have plans to compete in the King Kong can you please take 30 seconds to fill out a 2 question survey about the events. superbeast
I took the survey and admittedly voted to eliminate the stub. The bigger issue to me is that the events in general lean heavily toward friction lifts. I would like to see other aspects of grip contested. (grippers, levers, etc.)

(grippers I'm a huge gripper nut as everyone knows, but they are almost impossible to contest fairly for a multi venue competition like KK because of gripper variance and rating system variance. edit: the only way I can think of is if everyone location used the same adjustable gripper and the springs came from the same batch like how David Horne used the Vulcan gripper for world's strongest hands. Yes that’s a good observation Chez! Very true. Things like crusher, v bar and pinch don’t vary as much. Would love to see a sledge max face lever.... a sledge is a sledge is a sledge..... pretty universal as long as the handles are the same material and length. KapMan
I think a sumo wrestling or knocker ball event would vary things nicely why not try a thick bar snatch or clean?
Climber028
I don't think many gripsters have the mobility to snatch without killing themselves. I'd like to see more endurance events.

Agreed, I just don't think a dynamic pull is best for gripsport because there is a lot of technique involved in the clean that grip specialists shouldn't be expected to know. That's exactly why we didn't put grippers in.

Why shouldn’t a gripster know how to clean a barbell. it’s an awesome way to train Grip more dynamically.

A clean is still a static grip workout since your hand isn't moving. If the objective is to test grip then grip should be isolated. I agree that cleans are a great exercise it just isn't highly correlated with grip strength due to all the other factors involved.

The weight is moving through space at a great speed which makes it dynamic.....all grip in its essence is “static”or shall I say isometric.... but the fact that you’re moving great loads through space rather than just a deadlift makes it dynamic and more likely to break your grip Edited January 26, 2018 by Guest
