Paul Markowski
What type of pipe do you guys use to make an extended handle to be placed over one of the handles of a gripper in order to do negative reps in a power rack? Also, any idea as to what diameter pipe works best? Thanks!
Adam Juncker
If you buy "pipe" it will be measured by the ID or inside diameter. 3/4" should fit most gripper handles. Metal tubing is usually measured by OD (outside diameter) and also has a measurement for the wall thickness. So it can be used just needs some extra math to know what you are needing/buying. You should be able to get a 3/4" X 12 pipe nipple from the harware store for < $15 in the plumbing dept.

Adam Juncker
Cast iron or galvanized will be the most common pipe found at a hardware store. Structurally, both should be fine for negatives. If you are really worried about it bending you could fill up the pipe with quikrete or something. Just the part of the pipe that will extend past the handle so that the gripper can still fit inside. Personally I wouldnt worry about the pipe bending even without the quickrete.
