Buccos1
Sat (5/16) Box Squats (1x3) 135 (1x3) 225 (1x3) 275 add briefs (1x3) 315 (2x3) 365 I finally got my box in after waiting a long time, and was pretty amped to do box squats. I think in my enthusiasm, I went a little too heavy and my form was pretty off. These aren't something that you can just jump right in on without any work prior. (I haven't done box squats in at least a few years, but know they help and should definitely be worked back into to my routine.) I videoed my top two sets and I wasn't sitting nearly far back enough, so there is definitely work to do on these. But, I am going to do some research and watch videos before I try to get these into my regular sessions.

Buccos1
Sun (5/24) DO - IMPs 1/4 x 7" O1 1/4 x 7" Grade 5 Red Nail Horseshoes SCF UL1 - heart Polo #0 Diamond Classic #0 Braced 10" Spike (hard) I was at a family picnic for Memorial Day and was going to go home to bend as today was my Red Nail bend day. But my kids wanted to stay and play with their cousins longer, so I drove home, grabbed my stuff and went back to the picnic. I usually bend alone, in the basement, to little fanfare. But at the picnic, there were 14 kids under the age of 11, most of which were really into seeing it. So I put on a little "show" for everyone. My main focus, of course, was bending the Red, so was relieved when it melted, and felt way too easy. I've always seemed to get a 10% boost when bending in front of people. For lifting, it seems it's always been the opposite. I tried my first UL1 heart in a long time, and bent it way too hard and fast. (I was using thin wraps too, which I figured things would hurt a little more but they didn't.) By the time I layed off the hit to heart the one side, it was already way past the point of no return. So I ended up having a heart that looked like a weird animal head. My last bend was a 10" galvanized spike from Lowes. It's always been a mixed bag with these in difficulty. This one was brutal. I was using suede wraps comparable to IMPs in diameter and could not take it past 40 degrees. I put a pair of IMPs over them and continued to struggle with it through a nasty 2-minute leg crush. In my basement, I would have called this one after using the wrong wraps and struggling to transition to the leg crush. But the kids kept me going through an epic braced bend, which had me winded and sitting down for a few minutes afterward. Good Day!

I have had to go into an extra gear before to not fail while performing. Good motivation.

This has been a goal for probably 4 years, and was originally a body weight goal (200lb. press @ 200lb. bw) until the pandemic. Over the past few months, I've gone up to 210(ish). But still really happy to finally get this. Feels like countless fails in the 195-200 range the past few years. The rep was not 100% perfect, but no leg drive and 98% locked out on my left. Can't say for sure but a decent rep unless over analyzing it.

Surprised I got the bolt today, but it was with thicker wraps and not DHWG wraps. Very awkward position trying to snap on your back.

I tried another, smaller bolt today, and just couldn't get into a strong position to bend it past 25 deg. The 1/2" rebar snap wasn't as tough as I thought it'd be, but still a fun way to train. Buccos1
Wed (6/10) Horseshoes SCF Polo 1 SCF Lite Plain 1 - 60 deg. I normally don't bend shoes two days in a row, but just wanted to experience the extra pain today, so went for a LP1 in thin wraps. Just a little too much to push through and called it around 60 degrees.
