I am thinking about doing a powerlifting meet in late-September, possibly single-ply.  I tried out the Slingshot for the first time in awhile today, to try and acclimate a little better to slightly heavier weights.  375 was a grinder.

I wore my old Centurion suit to pull in but couldn't get the straps up.  This suit was moderately tight on me when I was around 195.  I'm about 208 right now.  I have a Velocity too, which would be a similar fit, maybe a little tighter.  I am cleaning up my diet the next few weeks and will hopefully be able to drop the weight to get around 200, so I can compete at 198, if I do this meet.  I'm still on the fence due to injures, but if things improve moderately, I'm leaning to do it.

I wore a one-sized-too-big shirt and was able to touch pretty easy, but not too much pop at the bottom.  I actually was able to get the shirt on by myself in about 30 seconds.  The 355 was sketchy, but not too bad.  My wife is lifting off for me, which adds to the challenge, as I can't really keep good position on the lift off.  No other options right now though.  I would like to get a few good reps in before the meet, so am going to keep trying.  If I can't, I will probably open raw at 300lbs. and then put the loose shirt on for my second, and maybe go tighter for the 3rd.

I think the 195 strict press was a barbell PR.  I have done it with the axle, but not a regular barbell yet.  And grippers finally felt strong today.  I might have been able to get five reps with the 120 gripper, but didn't want to tempt fate with my finger and forearm, which both felt better today.

I squatted in the morning and bent at night.  The Red attempt was pretty brutal, taking me nearly a full minute and tearing up my finger pretty good (which hasn't happened in a long time).

I got the shirt on by myself in about 15 seconds.  Definitely not ideal, but my options are pretty limited right now with bench.  I have a few shirts that are tighter and sized-down, but am not anywhere near comfortable with them.  I am thinking about opening with 300 raw at the meet and then putting on my loose shirt for 340-350 and then my tighter one for a final attempt at something closer to 400.

That’s my overhead in a nutshell: easy, then add a little weight and not even close. The pinch of compound movements!😆

Lol. I need to quit overthinking the setup and just press.  I did that with the 195 and it was decent.  200 and a little hesitation... nothing.
