honk
Well, I've to admit, there's still plenty of room for improovement with my eating habbits. But I have actually gained 2kg in the past weeks. 3/6/2007 Sumo deads with Hookgrip 50kg x 5 70kg x 5 105kg x 5 105kg x 5 Powercleans with Axle 47,5kg x 5 47,5kg x 5 Axle Press 30kg x 7 45kg x 5 45kg x 5 1 Arm Push Press 34kg 2xR 1xL PR righty 34kg x 2 each arm PR lefty I felt kinda sick yesterday so I have a combined pulling and overheadpressing day today. Can't wait till next monday 110kg x 5 would be a big PR for me and it seems doable. Maybe I'll pull again on tuesday, if the swiss grip comp beats up my back. Listened to "Are You Dead Yet?" by Children of Bodom, normaly I'm not a fan of metal with keyboards involved, but I highly recomend this album. I won't do power shrugs till I have a pair of comfortable straps, using close the gap straps as lifting straps is just a pain in the arse. Yeah I'm a wuss, so what? honk
I'll do warmup sets with my axle and axle holds in my gripsessions. I'll focus on axe deads and euro pinch in the grip department for the next weeks. Edited March 7, 2007 by honk
JasonL
Be careful with those Zerchers, they can send your back into overtraining very quickly )
honk
Thanks for the hint Jason, they have a very unique feeling to the back imho.
honk
My roommate just revealed to me that we have a parcel in the attic. I'll have to negotioate the details with him, but I think if I'll build him some boards for his yunk, he'll leave me enough space for my Powerrack and my yet to build ghetto reverse hyper. Man I'm really glad about that, living in one room with your equipment is kinda hardcore, but I'm looking forward to having a sofa again. I'll also be able to store my keg up there... ...I love kegpressing, especially outside.
honk
I just made a bet, with a close buddy of mine, that I won't be drinking any alcohol for the next 6 month. He's been telling me, that I'm having a problem with my drinking habbits for about a year now, and that will be my way of shutting him up. Actually some recents incidents made me offer him this bet. I'm anxious to see, if my training will benefit from it. Write up bout the swiss grip comp later.
honk
3/10/2007 Squats 70kg x 5 70kg x 5 Frontsquats 55kg x 3 55kg x 3 Overheadsquats 20kg x 4 30kg x 3 40kg x 2 45kg x 1 45kg x 1 50kg miss 50kg miss half way up, damn 50kg miss 50kg miss Zerchersquats 30kg x 5 50kg x 5 60kg x 5 70kg x 3 70kg x 5 From as allways, atg frontsquats, squats a good bit deeper than parallel. I did this workout in the morning just before the SGC, you might think it's way stupid to do a squat workout before a comp which includes cleans and deads. But I still have to nice cuts in my left hand, cause my parents cat (15.5lbs of pure fury btw) went mad on me on friday... So I had to compete with a taped left hand, and that doesn't help especially not with grippers and the lading medley. But at least the cuts didn't spilt open too wide, so it was ok. Anyway the comp was really spectacluar with all these impressive guys around, Kemeda e.g. never trained his hands and won the loading medlay against Franky and David. I was able to hit a solid PR in the axle clean, I did 68kg which is 1kg obove my bw, and I was never able to clean more than about 60kg on an olybar. If I only could get that weight overhead. Thanks for hosting David! Hopefully it's a bit warmer next time.
honk
3/14/2007 Just did a bunch of sets with the bending machine in the weakest setting with the weakest spring, 3 to 5 reps on most sets. I work both styles of rev. bending high and the more common low style. Currently I'm stronger with the high style of bending, but I think the other style might be superior since almost everyone is using it. I'm very likely to so some more sets with this thingy today, it's addictive. Next time I get near an angle grinder, I'll add notches in between the existing ones, for smaller increments in strength. I dunno yet, if I'll do a pull workout today, still having a bit of a cold.
DuTCH
Don't grind that thing up! You can do the spring in 1.5 or so. 3-4 reps is good, aim for around 10 and you will be able to do a full rep on the 1.5 setting. That is one spring in 2nd setting, and 1 still in the 1st setting. Enjoy!
Alawadhi
So you are training from now on the beding machine?! I told you I will finish you Anyways see you at the comp bro.

And if, I will bend at the very first notch not at a new notch I'll grind somewhere up the arm. I only have 1 spring btw. I mean 2 springs?? It's pretty brickish in the hardest setting with one spring in my book. Shure You'll have a ton of more settings but they'll be really tough, the bigger part of them I mean to say. Alawadhi, now that sounds great! Edited March 14, 2007 by honk

DuTCH
No, you didn't understand: If you have the spring in the 1st setting, just take the upper part of the spring, and place that in the 2nd gap. NOW, you have a 1.5 setting. My first try was also about 3 reps or so. I'm almost getting a full bend in the 2nd setting. edit: i also didn't explain very well Edited March 14, 2007 by DuTCH
honk
3/14/2007 Axle Strict Press 30kg x 8 35kg x 5 47,5kg x 4 got the 5th halfway up 47,5kg x 2 OK OK, training with a cold doesn't work for me, damn. 47,5kg x 5 would have been a PR I've been waiting for longer than I want to know. I know that I would've nailed it, if I had been fully recovered.
honk
3/15/2007 RB 210 N righty 3 no set attempts best one about 3mm 1 close with set & hold 1 miss with set lefty 3 no set attempts 2 misses with set Thorsten you're guilty, just because of u I did some gripperwork. 3/16/2007 Sumo Deads with Hookgrip 50kg x 5 70kg x 5 90kg x 3 110kg x 5 PR 110kg x 5 Power Cleans with Axle 50kg x 5 50kg x 5 Farmers 66kg a side 9 walks total distance about 250m or else, I'm not calibrated, yet. Some facts about my neigbours: -dropping 180kg in a powerrack > go ahead young lad -playing deathmetal at 11 in the evening rather lound > we don't mind -frying/cooking a meal at 4 o'clock in the morning > no problem -playing some chopin at 4 o'clock in the afternoon > you have them at your door "Is that you playing piano?" "Yeah" "Could u quiet down or use headphones?" "Yup, I'll do" Hm, I will hear less with headphones, but I doubt it will help them, it's a damn PIANO. >>I need a keyboard. honk
Forgot to mention: I did the farmers with 45mm (1.77") handles, I just don't like my 30mm (1.18") handles, too thin for my taste. I'm thinking about changing them to 40mm (1,57") which is most comfortable for me and 50mm (2"). I'll actually change quite a bit if I get in the mood to. -cut both handles off -go for detachable handles I'm also thinking about a detachable thingy that would turn my fw handles in a trap bar. But the whole thing would be really bulky. Edited March 16, 2007 by honk
