MattM
Actually gents I have been lifting it from the front, not the side! I guess it will be an event at nationals to alternate between a circus DB press and some kind of single arm conventional deadlift, very strange. I would say the limiting factor feels more like upper back and the opposite side erectors ability to stabilize the torso during the lift

MattM
Mighty impressive events! Have you ever tried push pressing the Inch? I have pressed the inch actually! I have a mini inch replica as well that our crew borrowed forever ago as well which I play around with on occasion! MattM
What are the main reasons you use the single legged deadlifts for? Well one reason I think they are in my program is that there is a high correlation between single leg deadlift ability and yoke carry ability... but carusom1 is the brains behind my training so you may have to ask him! They warm my hamstrings up rather well too. MattM
Saturday 8/8/15 So friday night after talking with the promotor/host of the winkler harvest pro/amateur strongman competition I decided to enter, albeit with no training for the events and a full week of training behind me... slightly stupid but it is what the awesome version of me would have done. Results: 1st place in the 231 division (out of 4), tie for 4th open division (out of 14) 265lb Log Clean & Press for reps - got 3, shoulders were beat up from thursday's log strict pressing 800lb Tire flip 80ft or distance - got this about 40ft Deadlift Medley (450 axle, 300 farmers, 700 18" deadlift, car for reps) - all implements, and 8 reps on the car. this was my best finish overall (2nd) 650 Yoke/275 Farmers Medley 80ft each - had a drop that put me from 1st to 3rd here Atlas Stones 210,245,275,305,385 (miss) to 52" platform - missed that stubborn 385 stone I'm in the green shirt, with the 231 trophy and the bag of goodies Edited August 9, 2015 by MattM

EricMilfeld
Rock and Roll performance! That deadlift medley looked like an absolute killer. Any idea what the weight-at-handles was on the car deadlift? And I want that "Flintstone" deadlift apparatus. I remember a similar setup at, I believe, the World's Strongest Man in South Africa back in the late 80s. Yes, congratulations!
MattM
That's awesome especially on short notice! Speaks volumes about your everyday strength. Congrats! Thank you! The log was really tough after doing log thursday, but I did damage control haha. Rock and Roll performance! That deadlift medley looked like an absolute killer. I remember a similar setup at, I believe, the World's Strongest Man in South Africa back in the late 80s. Yes, congratulations! That medley was pretty fun! The car was heavy that's all I know, maybe 750-850ish in hands? I really wanted to lift that flintstone bar from the first time I saw it haha! It's a very manly implement if I ever saw one
