Ed Coan On Benching

Ed never got credit for being a great bencher because he came in on the beginning end of the super shirts. With the IPF suspension, he was competing against 242's hitting 700's. Also, his other lifts were huge world records, while his bench was only "almost a world record".

Also, if it weren't for his pec injury early in his career he might have been a super bencher anyway. He was hitting close to 500 raw at 181 if I remember right.

light chest day and heavy chest day, mixing it up with diff widths,

also lots of Rows Triceps.... and chains bands work

Yeah but ''light'' is as hard as a heavy day because of the required explosiveness during the light day...i've been doing that for about 4 weeks now and my bench just skyrocketed...

also, the superwide grip bench really hits different muscles and can be quite hard...

Really good stuff. I have been using chains now for about 3 months and it is really making a difference on the last half of the press. You can see my set up in my gallery....
