Ivarboneless
Did it hurt before it broke or were you just pulling and POP? What exactly should you avoid doing to keep your arm from breaking? What would be the safest moves to avoid injury? So long as you don't do something incredibly stupid is breaking your arm still a very real danger? Sorry for my complete ignorance on the subject, but I haven't been able to find very much info on break arm position and arm breaks.
GarytheDino
I'll just tell you what I've heard people say. Usually it's just a snap without warning. Your position greatly increases the risk but it can happen to anyone. ALWAYS keep your eyes on your hand. Do not let your hand follow your shoulder. David Horne
I've seen 2 arms break, and these were proper armwrestlers. Just try not to get in bad position.
kyle102887
I think that what someone said in another post was great. Never let your hand follow your shoulder. Which also means never move your shoulder to the pad without your hand infront of it. You should always feel your moving your hand to the pad. Never feel like your moving your shoulder to the pad and your hands just taking the ride. Because this can cause twisting and stress on the bones in your arm. Do a little test hold your hand still, then move your shoulder like you were moving to the pin pad. Feel the stress in your arm and rotator? Try your best to never do the above, and you will greatly improve your chances of not breaking your arm.
Ivarboneless
Thanks guys, The replies really helped and I asked the officials to show me what to avoid and give me some pointers. All is well I didn't break my arm so I'm happy. I did better than expected and brought home some hardware so It's all good .
FrankyBoy
Well, from my own experience: You don't feel anything before it breaks. Only afterwards.

Flexor Brachialis
The most important thing is to keep your arm warm before pulling !!! A cold arm breakes very easier than a warm one.
pawel r
theme is current You broke your arm, Pawel? No. But I saw on armwrestling contests several times Edited February 4, 2009 by pawel r
bicio
theme is current You broke your arm, Pawel? No. But I saw on armwrestling contests several times In over 10 years i've seen 4 broken arms (3 of them in the last 2 championship) .... that sound is still in my ears and all the time i see a pull with a bad position i'm expecting the SNAP! Talking with someone who breaks his Homerus (normally that bones is the victim) it snap without any indication. By the way.... the advice of this post is the best a puller can read..... For the other cases is only a bad luck (IMHO)
