Just re-calibrated some grippers from a friend of mine, that I calibrated about a year ago.
captains of crush it changed anywhere from 5 to 10 pounds.

GHP changed about 10 to 12 pounds image.thumb.jpg.2c5abed61e62f9931fd9982cc2ff8f45.jpg

That’s kind of wild. Did you put reps on them prior to the first measurement? They were well-oiled and clean for the first measurement?

Yes . cleaned and oiled then put 30 reps on them before. These were some of the first ones  I did.

I am still working on it,I need more practice ,when I get more time I will redo the ones I’ve done for myself.

Curious, do you have any data on how gripper ratings drop over time? Any sort of consistency or predictability to it, with certain brands, rep totals, or time?

That's strange, Cannon performed 10,000 reps (!) on a CoC #3, and it lost only two pounds. Nobody can do 10,000 repetitions on a CoC #3 with his hands. I guess.

I think the first time I rated them I might have been doing something wrong. We are trying to experiment with different ways that would be more precise. Not that we’re going into any business or anything, just playing around. I’m waiting for some pre-rated grippers from Canon and I compare what they are to what I get.?

if you are interested in comparing your closes to other peoples using cpw ratings you should get a precalibrated gripper and attempt to replicate that measurement

on the other hand, if you just want to rate for you own sake and for progression you can be cool with your own numbers (if you measure all of your grippers the same way/the same day)

I just received pre-rated rippers from Canon. I checked them on my rating device and they are exactly what canon rated them at. But using a leverage bar can be inconsistent even with using a feeler gauge. I think using the lever bar on this device is good to get the 30 reps in. However I think I'm gonna have to come up with some kind of Threaded system , that will be a more of a accurate test.
