Cool. I just ordered a 4 inch hub from gorilla strength. They specified no knurling so I was unsure. Now I'm good and new to hub lifting.

Well it's cast iron like most grip implements. The only thing that makes it grippy, is the semi-grippy black paint it's coated on. If you wanna make it more grippy yourself, I've seen in competitions where they "season" or chalk whisper the implement. Depends on the implement, but it can take a while to do. All they do is rub chalk all over the contact points and surfaces. You would still chalk your hands like normal.
