DevilErik
Hey guys I was struggling to progress on my vulcan. CCS is crazy difficult for me and as of a couple weeks ago I had stalled completely and could only do light work with the vulcan. During my gripper session today I decided to try a set as wide as possible while still being able to keep my pinky on the handle. To my suprise I nearly closed level 15 from the ultra wide set. (CROM spring) I couldn't even close level 13 with a Credit Card Set how is this possible? My hand are nearly 8.7 inches and very wide. Jermiah Merciconah
I think i have a decent idea what you're experiencing, I'm having a similar phenomenon with my Deep set where i feel stronger doing far wider stuff, I'd just say if you feel stronger doing that much of a wider set, Try just sliding the card through the wide gap and closing, I know some gripsters like Ivan Cuk do it
DevilErik
Your hands are even larger than mine you could probably no set a Vulcan. I am just going to train Table no Sets and No Sets exclusively from now on. I will wait until I am strong enough to do a no. 3 no set and certify that way. DevilErik
Except for Vulcan V2 training because I can only no set lighter settings on it without my pinky locking up.

Jermiah Merciconah
Not sure of the precise decimal but they're north of 9 inches long

Its definitely a challenge to deep set, Since i have to position the back handle of the gripper up *further* than the palm crease to be able to get the right amount of leverage

Its actually interesting, Since i've been training wide and carded sets, I've actually kinda forgotten the technique for deep setting, so i think i might just stick with wide sets from now on since they feel so much more comfortable, They also tear my hands up way less

So I have no idea whether or not deep sets could still help you in that regard since I am far from an expert on grippers. But doing deep sets with hands that large just seems counterproductive and a waste of time. Edited October 11, 2021 by DevilErik

You're probably right honest, My friend Ivan's been saying that for the longest time too since he's a wide set specialist himself, I'm probably just gonna stick to wide sets from now on anyway and see where i end up, Since it also causes me far less pain than deep setting
