Roark
On Nov 28, 1912 in England at a 'Rally For The Strong' Monte Saldo became the first Britisher to swing more than bodyweight, swinging 150 lbs at a bodyweight of 140. He accomplished this by his idea of back-loading the rear end of the dumbell heavier than the front. This method, according to W.J. Lowry "has the effect of shortening the radius of the swing which, instead of describing a semi- circular movement from the ground to arm's length overhead, actually, with the aid of a bent elbow, a raised shoulder of the lifting arm, a strong lean backwards and partly to the opposite side, converts the swing into an almost straight 'snatch' movement." Guest Luke Reimer
I always love your history blurbs, Joe, but this time, more than enough information here. Anne Nicole Smith's interest in the subject of our forum? That's pretty lame. I really didn't want to know.
