If I had sweaty hands, more chalk and/or a different type might work better. But a thin layer, and breathing on my thumbs/fingers right before a heavy friction attempt is what works best for me. What about oils? My hands run fairly dry as well, but until I use some chalk to absorb the natural oil on my skin I can only pinch about 65% of my max. I don't notice my hands are greasy until I try to pinch something fairly easy or hang from towels.

When I rock climbed I would always go for Black Diamond's White Gold when I ran out, so that's what I bought. It works out to around $17 for 1lb, so it's not terribly expensive either. That's what I use simply because it is readily available at the local climbing club.
wobbler
Re: oils - I wash my hands with dish soap right before I do grip stuff (I think that was a tip from @Mikael Siversson ) but yeah, oily skin and zero chalk would not work well. We use a degreaser pumice soap which works really well for skin oil but doesn’t do anything for sweatiness
FrankSobotka
Tried some Friction Labs Unicorn Dust today. Was using 2x4 NN pinch handles. Got slippery after a while, wasn’t a big fan. Failed 205 with it. Wiped hands and implement off and proceeded to get 205, 215 and 225 off the ground with my cheap Amazon chalk. Not saying it sucks but I won’t use the find grind next time, I will get the chunky
Bill Piche
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B075VCX87P/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 This stuff is super cheap as you just need a dab and get a lot on your hands. My current tube will last YEARS at this rate.

I use to work masonry and not once did I put lotion on my hands to keep them from drying out. All my workmates needed lotion to keep their hands from drying and the skin cracking. Without chalk my numbers go way down.

2sweetdadstrength
I bought some Black Diamond White Gold and find it WAY too slick. 5-10 lbs less on Rolling Thunder and Flask than with generic chalk. I guess I need to try a chunkier chalk.
