Iron Grip Calibrated Steel Bars Bending Certs

Recommended Posts

Ivan Beritashvili

Greetings to all steel benders!!

With support of International Grip Collective, with huge help of our friend EJ Livesey and with approval of GripBoard governing administration

Russian "Iron Grip" community is honored and proud to introduce you
CALIBRATED STEEL BARS BENDING CERTS !!

The link to our site (we have translated it into English for our Western friends):
http://irongripworld.ru/index.php/en/
The link to our YouTube channel: Iron Grip Certs

Months of steel searching and selection, tons of calibrated bars allowed us to build a very smooth ladder of almost
30 (THIRTY !!!) steps from novice to elite.

All bars are calibrated at 7", take a look please:

zdnnTJsCG7c.jpg

For comparison with IronMind bars:
Yellow nail - 75 kg
Red nail - 150 kg
Gold nail at 7" - 265 kg
You may choose of four different ratings, where you can test your might:

1) Freestyle rating - the test of the PRESSURE. Any wraps, any unbraced style.
5 minutes from straight to 2 inches between ends.

2) Pads touching rating - the test of WRIST STRENGTH. IronMind Pads or DHWOG suedes, touching in the middle, any unbraced stye is allowed as long as pads touch each other in the middle. Only 7'' stock is allowed for this rating.
3 minutes from straight to 2 inches between ends.

3) Barehand rating - the test of BALLS. Only chalk pads are allowed. 5 minutes from straight to 2 inches between ends.

4) Thriathlon rating - the test of BENDING VERSATILITY. Three main styles (DO, DU and Reverse) in IronMind pads without bands. Your place in this rating depends on the SUM OF CALIBRATION NUMBERS of bars bent in three different styles.

For more details please go to rules page and click on the rating which has interested you.

To have look on our calibrated bars please go to catalogue. Please keep in mind that we are still searching the steel to close gaps more than 10 kilos, so the list of bars will be updating each 3-4 weeks.

GOOD LUCK GENTLEMEN!! ENJOY AND HAVE FUN!!

Do you know if you will have a vendor in the states or will we have to order from you? I'm only worried about shipping cost could get expensive unless I do a big order.

Jon and Stephen - many thanks for appreciation!!

Stephen, it is only month since we have launched this project. Before we have announced it to our Western friends we have tested this all here in Russia. So when project will grow and many people will be involved, we will look for a vendor in USA.

Now the shipping price is about 30$ - 35$ for 2 kilos, that's about 20-25 bars.

I had the pleasure to try the 250kg bar. It's hard, very hard, a 10mm bar. Moved it about 5degrees in single Battlefield wraps.

I agree this is gonna be interesting.

Ivan and his team put a lot of time, energy and strength into these bars. They look top notch and are cut and ground beautifully. I was truly honored when Ivan ask for my thoughts and opinions on this project.

Ivan,

Can you explain a little bit about your calibration. The calibrations are in kilos and are compared to Mike K's calibrations, but the conversions don't really make sense to me? Maybe I've missed something. Shouldn't a 100kg bar match a 220lb rating from Mike K?

Again great work with all of this. I'll be placing an order tomorrow! And I love the idea of the Iron grip team t-shirt, although that freestyle cert will be 10 years in the making for me :)

Sean, thank you for kind words!

Here is how we do it
qIGFn9oXDyE.jpg

As you can see we attach the clamps at the ends of the bar. That gives us numbers in kilos we got used to in Russia for last 4 years.
I know Mike K. has calibrated the bars, stepping 3/4" from each side.

To give imagination to our Western friends, we have RE-calibrated several DrillRod bars from Benders Battlefield, calibrated by Mike K.
That allowed us to find the ratio between the numbers and estimate a range in lbs were our bar will fall with a chance of 99%.

Ivan,

That looks awesome and you guys have done a great job. I save up some $$$ and might have to give it a try. As has been said, the shipping will be the biggest negative for those of us in the USA.

I love the cards with the steel. All looks great.
